NRC Ultralight Shelter
A thermal tent is a lightweight and compact piece of emergency equipment designed for use in the field. It works well as an emergency shelter, providing protection from hypothermia, wind, rain, and moisture. Thanks to its design and simplicity, it is used in tourism, survival, bushcraft, rescue, and uniformed services. Its purpose is to reduce heat loss from the body, insulate from cold ground, and protect against adverse weather conditions in emergency situations.
Durable plastic and metallized protective surface
The tent is made of waterproof and reinforced plastic, which is highly resistant to tears and mechanical damage. The surface of the tent reflects up to 90 percent of heat, helping to maintain the right body temperature even in low temperatures. The use of double-sided metallized material in silver and orange allows for a variety of applications – the orange side increases visibility in the field and can be used to call for help, while the silver side effectively reflects heat. The reflective color makes it easier to locate an injured person in difficult terrain or in conditions of limited visibility.
Optimal dimensions and ultralight design
The dimensions of the tent when unfolded are 235 x 150 cm, which provides enough space for one or two people. The tent can be hung or unfolded in any way using the included nylon cord and elements of the environment, such as trees, trekking poles, paddles, rocks, or a bicycle. Thanks to its flexible form, it can serve as a tent, cover, or tarp. When folded, it has a compact size that allows for easy storage in a backpack, pocket, or EDC set. Its light weight does not burden your equipment and facilitates transport.
Set elements
The set includes a strong 7-meter rope for quick shelter setup and a carry bag with a drawstring to protect the tent from dirt and moisture. The whole thing can be easily folded and packed, so the equipment is always ready for use in emergency situations. The set is perfect for use in the field, during camping, hiking, and survival expeditions.
